imurders is about a group of people who are in a chat together online. After two of the members end up dead, the others start to get suspicious. Sure enough, one of the members was responsible for these two deaths and plans to continue killing until each and everyone of the people in the chat are dead. I think that imurders works off of an interesting point and defiantly one that has potential scares involved. This is the idea that as well as you might think you know someone, without even ever meeting them in person, what kind of secrets may they have inside of them?

Unfortunately from the looks of the trailer, it doesn’t appear it really brought this idea to life, but rather used it as more of a gimmick. As far as successful killers go, there are two kinds; the killer that you are able to really get inside of his head, learn his reasons and motives, to feel a strange sort of understanding of this warped character, than there’s the silent, but creepy and ominous killer, who clearly has so many demons inside but is still so unknown as to what they really are. The killer in imurders is neither though, but instead he is just someone who kills. There is no reason, not one that we are able to explore or one we have to attempt to figure out ourselves. In this case, that is just what the guy does and he is played off as a stereotypical madman. This attempts to show the point that there are some crazy people out there and you never know what others may be capable of. This craziness always starts somewhere, there is always some truth that is behind even the most twisted individuals.

imurders seems to be lacking of any truth or substance, using clichés and cheesy acting in this movie that could has some potential in its’ initial story. With all of the fear about Myspace and the internet along with some of the malicious acts that occurs from some innocent victims making the mistake of meeting the wrong person off of the internet, I would have liked to see a little more out of imurders. With all of the instances of this happening, there is so much that could be explored from reasoning, to the luring of the victims, to the mindset of the killer as well as the victims, even before they knew they were victims. It is just a shame that the film is taking the easy way out by not expressing things like this. On the trailer DVD, there is one behind the scenes feature. There are a few shots we see being done, but all and all not much is even shown through this. When behind the scenes, an exclusive with those involved with the film seems to be flat and boring and the trailer is compiled of uninteresting and overused stereotypes lacking any truth or realism, it doesn’t leave much hope for the full film. You never know, though the film is still categorized as being in post production, so maybe they will manage to bring something together that shows a little bit of exploration, but with the filmmakers being unable to even come up with a couple minutes of footage that could be in any way effective, doesn’t leave me with much hope.
