After Dark Films making their own horror movies is like Britney Spears being in charge of her own career — you should all know how well that went. The HollyWood Reporter reports that: “After Dark Films is producing the first horror films set for its shitty 8 Films to Die For theatrical film series.” Okay I added the “shitty” part, but the majority of horror fans do agree on the fact; that the 8 Films series has been complete garbage up to this point.
The two films they are producing are called Faithless and Perkins’ 14.
“Stewart Hopewell’s ‘Faithless’ follows a young woman trying to escape an abusive past by moving to Atlanta, but discovers more cruelty awaits her. Craig Singer’s ‘Perkins’ 14,’ developed from a winning idea by Jeremy Donaldson in a February Massify.com pitch contest, is a killer thriller involving the arrest of a suspected murderer.”
Horror-Movies.ca reports that the first film they acquired is called The Broken (Synopsis Below).
Synopsis:
On a typically gloomy day in London, Gina, a young and beautiful radiologist, is sure she just saw herself driving by–in her own car. When she follows her mysterious doppelganger into an unfamiliar apartment, she isn’t quite sure she can trust her own eyes until she spots a photo of herself and her father on the entryway table. Understandably spooked, she dashes back down to her car. Soon she finds herself in the hospital, unable to remember what has put her there or much about the strange woman. What Gina does know is her boyfriend seems different, the ceiling above the bathtub leaks blood in her dreams, and broken mirrors are becoming a recurring theme in her life. Increasingly paranoid, Gina is experiencing a bizarre and horrific version of her former life, and as things spiral out of control, she must escape from, or come to grips with, her new reality.
