The CW just brought in The Evil Dead’s Sam Raimi, reality vet Jay Bienstock, and Raimi’s Ghost House Prods. partner Robert Tapert to produce eight episodes of the tentatively titled reality TV show 13 (originally called House of Horrors) for their network this summer.
Variety reports that the show will “utilize horror-themed challenges to knock players off one by one, until just one is left, having survived all that bloodshed.”
Bienstock says he signed up for the job because “It sounded like a lot of fun. The idea of doing a horror/scary/reality show with Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert — there’s nothing better.”
Bienstock also said the films of his youth like Friday the 13th would inspire the setup of the show.
