Um, file this under really weird couplings. Following the recent success of Tim Burton’s SWEENEY TODD, the NY Times reported that horror writer Stephen King and singer John Mellencamp are teaming up for a musical.
“Ghost Brothers of Darkland County,” a new Southern fried Gothic musical written by King is set to open April 2009 at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta Georgia.
The musical is about the repercussions of a tragedy that hits a small town in Mississippi. Hurricane Katrina?
In a recent interview in Rolling Stone magazine, Mellencamp said that if the musical did well in Atlanta, it would definitely be heading to Broadway.
