It will never happen, but one can dream of the day Hollywood runs out of stuff to
remake. But if they have no problem making a movie into a musical, then remake the musical into a movie, it will never stop. All we can do is sit back and hope that some of them are good, like 2001 Maniacs or Dawn of the Dead. So keep your fingers crossed as they now have their crosshairs aimed at one of the titles that brought in the, home VHS boom of the 1980’s, Faces of Death

Faces was one of those films that made the new technology of VCR’s seem even more high-tech (VCRs might of not been that new at the time, but they were for the poor who were just getting them into their homes around this point) or adavanced. I don’t know, for some reason the word I’m looking for escapes me at the momment. But to be able to sit down in your own home, watch a movie at any time you wanted, was a big deal to a kid who didn’t even have cable. I had to watch Death Wish for the first time on network TV, can you believe that?

So Faces if you watched it now might seem kind of stupid but at the time it was believable, a new idea (this is before anybody had the Internet and reality TV) and amazing that you could see all this crazy shit in your own home. Monkeys brains for dinner!! WOW! We ate it up, especially us kids who’s parents were not paying attention. So why remake it and how do you remake it? Well it seems we might find out.

Rogue Pictures is in the process of developing a brand-new Faces of Death film with J. T. Petty attached to direct. Producer Don Murphy wants to make a more storyline, based horror film rather than the fake documentary that we all believed in the past, and trust me it sounds like a good recipe for disaster if put in the wrong hands. Hopefully, if they do it, they will be able to pull it off. We’ll have to wait and see and believe me Horror Yearbook will keep you updated!
