Gregory Lamberson’s low budget horror flick Slime City (Read Review Here) celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2008 with a soundtrack CD (Buy Here) and two reunion screenings at The Beloit International Film Festival in Wisconsin, January 18th and 19th. Lamberson and Tomaro will be joined at the event by Slime City stars Robert Sabin and Mary Huner.
The cult film, which Lamberson wrote, directed, co-produced, and co-edited at the age of 21, was filmed in 16m on a $50,000 budget and made its midnight debut at New York City’s Bleecker Street Cinemas.
Tomaro had saved the original recordings of his score, which he painstakingly Re-Mastered. The CD, which features 40 minutes of incidental music, as well as the “Slime City Tribute Song” created by Wisonsin’s Holy Mary Motor Club.
We’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of the midnight run,” Lamberson says. “That way, in 2009, we can celebrate the anniversary of it’s first VHS release!”
