Victor Salva is apparently working on the direct-to-DVD JEEPERS CREEPERS 3.

There have been many rumors swirling around for a few years now. Some thought that the film would be shot in Summer of 2006, some said the film will take place 20 years after Part 2 had ended, and others even rumored that the third installment would be a Western!?! But one of the most outlandish rumors was that character Trish (main girl from Part 1) dies and gets stitched to Darry (boy who eyes get cut out at the end).

So the final rumor by BD is that the studios okayed the third film, Salva is writing the script, someone else will direct it, and the movie will be straight-to-DVD.

BD also claims that Salva has been trying to get Part 3 off the ground for years (this sounds true), but the studios response was “there’s no franchise here anymore” (this sounds untrue). Hollywood is ALL about remakes and sequels now because that is almost guaranteed revenue for them. Could it be that studios just didn’t want to make a movie with Salva period? That seems a possibility considering he isn’t being considered for directing a film in his very own franchise.

And for the people that forgot what JEEPERS CREEPERS is about, I will refresh your memory. The creep is a monster that eats young boys. Wait, I think I got that confused with someone’s biography…
