<I was just thinking the other day about the “violence in video games” controversy and have come to the conclusion that video games are not nearly violent enough. Then god, in the form of TN Games, designed the Third Space Vest to please my bloody gaming palette.
Third Space Vest can simulate gunshot wounds and injuries. It was designed mainly for shooter games, but can be used for other types of games. It includes eight different zones that can apply a wide range of touch anywhere from a simple tap, to the force of an explosion.
The vest was created by physician Mark Ombrellaro, who got the idea from an actual vest used in medical training to simulate injuries.
This vest will be available in November for $189 and come bundled with a space game and possibly Call of Duty II. A software development kit will be available shortly and expect patches to come for other big name shooters like the Quake, Doom and Unreal Tournament series. The vest is currently on sale at a discounted price for all pre-orders.
SciFi.com says this “takes gaming a step too far,” but I say they are fucking insane and this doesn’t take things far enough. I am a huge gamer and in all seriousness- when I first heard of this gift from god they call a “gaming vest,” I added it to my Christmas wishlist.
