Dimension Nabs Wizard of Gore Remake

Horror-Movies.ca has learned, via Fangoria, that Dimension has acquired the rights of the Wizard of Gore remake. Jeremy Kasten’s film has been blowing in the wind for quite some time, but there is no word on what they will do with it, meaning theatrical release or send it straight to DVD.

Hopefully they will be smart, and remove all the tacky Suicide Girls crap, that they plastered all over the posters and other promotional material previously. It was so bad, it made one want to avoid the film, and not just because it is another remake we don’t need.

The Wizard of Gore stars: Starring: Crispin Glover, Kip Pardue, Bijou Phillips, Brad Dourif, Jeffrey Combs

You may check out the trailer and official website here.

I don’t know if this is the official synopsis or Horror-Movies.ca but I stole it either way:

“Wizard of Gore is the story of a master illusionist who performs at underground venues, selecting female volunteers from his rave-like audiences. To their hysteria, it appears he has dismembered their bodies, but his sleight of hand has fooled them. The next day, however, female bodies show up dead from the same wounds performed on stage. Investigators are baffled, and the chase to find the killer begins.”
