The Anaconda films won my heart with the first film which starred Ice Cube, Jennifer Lopez, Jon Voight, and even the suicidal Owen Wilson. The reasons to watch the original are: to see if Ice Cube can make it through the entire film without saying “Motha Fucka” (he doesn’t'), for Jon Voight’s wonderful, over-the-top performance and to see a giant snake eat people. What more could you possibly need?

The reasons to watch the sequel are: for the monkey and to see a giant snake, or snakes, eat people. Now the franchise may have just gotten a little better. Moviehole reports that two sequels are being made for non-other than the wonderful Sci-Fi channel, which seems to love giant snake movies…God bless their hearts, but the best part is that this time David Hasselhof will be taking on the over-sized beasts.

It seems Hoff will be playing a mercenary-for-hire who is employed by a billionaire to capture the Anaconda’s because they may be able to cure his terminal illness. The first of the two new sequels is entitled Anaconda: The Offspring. We will keep you posted as soon as we learn more.
