I like Quentin Tarantino even when he acts like a lunatic, scares an airline stewardess, and addresses random D-list celebrities as his wife. Recently he has turned down a ton of high caliber projects, bitched about CASINO ROYALE, and claimed he will make porn. Here is a short list of what the hell this inglorious bastard is up to:
INGLORIOUS BASTARDS – Quentin hasn’t even written the screenplay to this highly anticipated movie. “I never said it was going to star Bruce Willis, Schwarzenegger and Stallone. I don’t know who’s going to be in it at this point. I have to write it first. It always starts with me and the characters. I always try to write the character and cast the actor to fit the character.”
“Heroes” - Tarantino turned down an offer to direct an episode of the hit TV show saying, “I haven’t even seen the fucking show.”
HAWAII FIVE-O - He refused an offer to direct a film version of the show “Hawaii Five-O” stating, “I tried to watch the old TV show, but it sucks. I don’t even like Hawaii.”
CASINO ROYALE – Even a full year after being turned down as director for the future blockbuster, he is still angry as hell. “I never saw Casino Royale because I was so mad at those guys. They should have talked to me about it. They said publicly that Casino Royale was unfilmable, but the minute I said I would do Casino Royale, it’s on all the websites and it is the film that people want to see. They should have said thank you.”
Porn – It is not unknown that he is a fan of ’70s European nudie flicks. Quentin says he wants to make “a cool sex movie that would take place in Stockholm, with a couple of Americans visiting a couple of Swedish friends . . . just going out drinking, having a good time, hooking up.” But, he tells London’s Daily Telegraph, “If I actually do an erotic movie, I’m going to have to reveal what I find sexy, what turns me on . . . It’s got to be kind of kinky, because that’s what’s cinematic, that’s what’s fun. Everything else is just - shagging.”
