It looks like After Dark is bringing back their “8 Films to Die For,” which may or may not actually be 8 films this year.
As you should know “8 Films to Die For” was three days, of horror films playing in theaters across the country. The films were supposed to be “too extreme for theaters,” but it turned out they were just not good enough for theaters. The bulk of the films were more suited for direct to DVD releases and “8 Films” left a sour taste in the horror fans mouths. It was a real shame, but maybe they can do better this year.
Bloody Disgusting and Dread Central have learned that After Dark has picked up Frontieres, a French film that has been getting a lot of buzz from the film festival circuit. They also have signed-up Matt Leuttwyler’s, sleep fest, Unearthed (Read Review Here), Mulberry Street, Nightmare Man, and The Deaths of Ian Stone.
So will this year be better? I am not sure. I have heard great things about Nightmare Man and like I said Unearthed was absolutely nothing to write home about. Also can we really trust the French after the High Tension debacle? All we can really do is waste our money and find out in a few months when “8 Films to Die For” makes its return.
