I hope you freaks still have some money left over from last week. Check out this incredible list of Brain Hammer approved horror flicks that are hitting stores Sept. 25:
BLACK ROSES (special edition): Synapse:
“The sleepy little town of Mill Basin is about to get more than it bargained for. The satanic heavy metal rock band “Black Roses” is coming through to raise hell… literally! After making a deal with the Devil himself, the band s music demonically possesses the kids in the audience, turning them into blood-thirsty demons. The blood flows as they start killing their parents and causing chaos at their local high school. Culminating in a fiery battle between man and ultimate evil, BLACK ROSES is considered a MUST HAVE metal horror movies from the 80’s”
HELL YEAH!!! This is the one I’ve been waiting for! A heavy metal horror epic from director John Fasano that will bring back a lot of heavy metal memories! This beautiful special edition dvd from Synapse is the follow up to their release of the immortal “Rock ‘N’ Roll Nightmare!” Check out my interview with John Fasano Here:
CAT O’NINE TAILS (special edition rerelease): Blue Underground
A classic thriller from Dario Argento getting a special edition rerelease from Bill Lustig’s Blue Underground.
CAT PEOPLE (1982; HD-DVD): Universal
This one is worth buying for one reason alone – LYNN LOWRY!!! Enjoy some Lynn Lowry mania!:
Don’t throw Momma from the train. But by all means, hurl a basketball at her head and make it explode! This cheese lovers favorite finally gets a dvd release.
DEMONS (rerelease): Anchor Bay
Classic Italian splatter from director Lamberto Bava and producer Dario Argento. They will make cemeteries their cathedrals and the cities will be your tombs!
Finally, the ruthless internet profiteers of the world can FUCK OFF – as this cult classic slasher flick finally gets a much needed dvd rerelease. The original, out of print dvds were going for a fortune. Now, everyone can own this gory little horror gem for a reasonable price.
EATEN ALIVE (new 2-disc special edition): Dark Sky
Director Tobe Hooper’s criminally ignored follow up to “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” Obviously Quentin Tarantino didn’t ignore it, as he stole the classic line “I’m Buck and I’m ready to fuck!” and used it in “Kill Bill.” This often overlooked old school horror flick gets a 2 disc special edition from the fine folks at Dark Sky.
SATAN’S BABY DOLL (special edition): Severin
This is this weeks essential purchase for Italian sleaze lovers. Enjoy the perverse pleasures of “THE MALICIOUS WHORE” – if you dare!
SUSPIRIA (2-disc rerelease): Blue Underground
Arguably, the most beautiful horror film ever made. “Suspiria” gets yet another dvd release, this time a 2 disc rerelease from Blue Underground. If you’ve never seen this one, you are really missing out on something special.
This looks like a fantastic collection. If this can be found cheap enough it would make a great purchase for sure. I can’t wait to finally get to see John Carpenter’s 1978 made for tv horror effort “Someone’s Watching Me!” Ken Weiderhorn’s “Eyes Of A Stranger” is a slasher flick that I’ve wanted to see for a while now. Cheap bastards should know that the movies in this collection are also available individually.
Until next week, KEEP THE BLOOD FLOWING!!!
