Dario Argento’s MOTHER OF TEARS Reviewed

No, we didn’t get our grubby hands on Dario Argento’s newest outing yet, but once it arrives, we will do all kinds of nasty things to it. Variety somehow managed to snag a peek and I believe this is supposed to be a negative review, however based on their summation I would say we have every right to anticipate its release.

“Never much inclined toward plot credibility, clarity, or playable dialogue, Argento really throws in the towel here. Result is so hard to take seriously that even the graphic gore incites laughs, since it only caps situations already absurd in conceit and execution. Pic has exactly one good shock; otherwise it’s just amusingly foolish. Adding to the fun are the ‘Omen’-esque satanic choral bombast of Claudio Simonetti’s score, some low-grade CGI effects, and many gratuitous breast shots.”

That basically sounds like every other good Argento film I have seen, so make no mistake- I am eagerly awaiting this.
