Jungle Warriors: Euer Weg führt durch die Hölle
The Czar of Brazil
This is one of those foreign films with like 600 titles. Not quite a women in prison film, but close enough. This time our captive gals are 100% innocent, their only crime being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Several models, their photog and “escort,” or guide, are shot down while looking for exotic locations in a remote jungle controlled by drug lords. They are quickly captured, and after their guide is nicely decapitated they are locked up and accused of being spies. Sybil Danning, the sister of the main drug lord, shows up to interrogate the girls, which eventually leads to one of the biggest mass gang rapes ever put on film.
Captive Women is only for people, like myself, who want to watch every piece of crap ever made. It does not offer much to talk about in any shape or form and drags for 90% of its running time. There are only two gory scenes, but not enough that even the most complete gore-slut would really need to waste his or her time.
Also do not be mislead by the “Jungle Warriors” part, it is hardly even worth mentioning. The women do escape, but the escape and their revenge is barley worth the time it took to type this sentence. I at least demand a music montage or bandanas (the universal sign of we are going to open a can of whoop ass in the 80’s) during my revenge/escape scenes, but we get neither. There’s no catchy music, no gory deaths, just lame shoot-em-up action scenes. There is a rudimentary fight scene, and a typically boring ending. Even Sybil Danning and John Vernon can’t save this film.
It has been a few months since I have revisited the WIP genre and Captive Women almost made me wish I had not.
