It is almost over, Rob Zombie’s Halloween has been a long and wild ride, but Zombie did not go out with a whimper, smashing the Labor Day Friday record bringing in over 10million, the previous record was 5million held by Transporter. We will have to wait and see what the weekend totals are, but Halloween is on course to make over 30million.
So hopefully this will help R-rated horror films, but it will probably also send studios scrambling to see what other classics they can remake next. Get ready for Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street and whatever else they can get their hands on. 2008 is going to be an interesting year for the genre.
