Jake West has been a favorite of Horror Yearbook’s since his great UK release of EVIL ALIENS. He took a stab at the PUMPKINHEAD franchise and is now moving onto the more ambitious project DOGHOUSE.
DOGHOUSE is about a group of men going through a midlife crisis. They take a trip to a small town fully of women. The problem is that these women have gone mad and feast on the flesh of men.
West exclusively reveals to Horror Yearbook, “I’m just in the very early stages of Pre-Production on Doghouse, doing concept art. The film is being financed by Carnaby International in the U.K. It should be finished for Cannes next year. We hope to shoot at the end of this year, dates TBD. I think this will be my best movie to date. It certainly has one of the best original scripts I’ve read in years.”
DOGHOUSE is scripted by Dan Schaffer, creator of the cult comic series “Dogwitch.” Schaffer’s screenplay was optioned in 2007 by Carnaby Int’l with West brought in as director. West continues, “What’s so exciting about the script- it’s been written by comic book artist Dan Schaffer. I love his comic book work and his writing and the chance to work with Dan has been an amazing pleasure.”
