The UK-based Revolver Entertainment have two interesting releases coming soon in the form of a serial killer flick and a zombie flesh eating spree. Both BROKEN and THE ZOMBIE DIARIES are set for Region 2 DVD release in August.
BROKEN is the sick tale of a serial killer that traps women and forces them through various exercises. If they win, they are awarded with being his slave and said prize includes cooking and cleaning for the bastard. I have to admit this is an interesting premise, but reeks of misogynism. Women’s survival instincts involve the desire to scrub floors? At any rate, you can look forward to some Martha Stewart hot action when it hits England’s shelves August 20th, 2007.
[Editor’s Note: I saw the U.S. premiere of BROKEN a few years ago. Although not a great film, it is something worth seeing and should get a fucking release here in the U.S.. The opening scene or “exercise” Molly mentioned is a very disturbing scene, and the film has a couple other not to be missed moments. It’s one of those horror films that has dipped under the radar and deserves a little more attention then it is geting.]
THE ZOMBIE DIARIES are releasing one week later on the 27th and follows a group of individuals during a virus outbreak. Some of the struggling survivors include a documentary crew, a couple with a tag-along hitchhiker, and a group that winds up barricaded on an old farm.
