Actress Lacey Chabert (BLACK CHRISTMAS remake), and singer Ashlee Simpson (famous for banging Pete Wentz and being related to Jessica) are reportedly in talks to join the cast of upcoming horror movie GRINDER. Also in talks is Rider Strong, who played the disloyal idiot from CABIN FEVER 1 & 2. Already attached to the project is Adam Hughes, who was on a reality TV show called, “Forever Eden.” Err, I smell trouble. In addition to possible casting woes, the films “co-directors” both have previous credits to things I am not familiar with.
GRINDER centers on 11 college students road tripping to Miami that are run off the road by a mystery driver. They are forced to spend the night in a small town, which is occupied by only one family who oddly bare the town’s “Chapman” name as their own. To make matters worse, a foul stench continually emanates from a mysterious mill within the town. Soon the friends realize they are in danger, as the group begins to thin considerably with people disappearing one by one after they check into the town motel.
GRINDER is in pre-production now with a curiously early release date of sometime in 2007.
