HORROR YEARBOOK: Hey Matt! What’s up buddy?

MATT NELSON: Workin the graveyard shift bro.

HYB: Deliver any pizzas lately?

MN: Haha! Hell no.

HYB: The horror film, Delivery, recently handed you a Best Actor award at Screamfest for playing Monty, the Killer Pizza Delivery Man. Congrats on that achievement.

MN: Thanks. I heard my name called and was like “huh?” I didn’t know what to say so I said I had never won anything before except a free bottle of Mountain Dew. I guess it pays to go topless in your first movie in front of the camera!

HYB: Yeah, that was… ahem… memorable. Tell us a little about your role and how you prepared for it.

MN: Honestly, I read the script once 3 months before we shot. I had maybe two days worth of rehearsals, but thought it would be best to not get attached to a certain perception to the role, so my prep time was cramming the dialogue while the crew was setting up the shots. I think it gave me the ability to try things differently. Plus I ate a lot of pizzas. It was gross at times.

HYB: What was your most satisfying scene in the film?

MN: Being molested by 20 hot naked ladies, and killing my bosses. Every man’s dream I think. Maybe the ladies too.

HYB: Jose Cassella, the director of Delivery, worked with a very low budget, but really seems to know how to make a dollar look a lot bigger visually. How was it working with him?

MN: He is a technical director so he depends on the actors to know their job. I’ve worked with Jose for a while so I knew exactly what he was looking for.

HYB: Any chance of a sequel?

MN: Delivery 2: Going Postal? Honestly if the movie does well, there is a possibility.

HYB: Before Delivery, you worked on a film that’s getting great reviews and feedback with the horror community: Andre the Butcher. How was it working with the renowned porn star, Ron Jeremy?

MN: It was cool. He was only there for two days when Andre was unmasked; otherwise it was actually the key grip playing the part.

HYB: Who else would you like to work with in the horror genre? Any favorites come to mind?

MN: My dream would be to direct a Clive Barker novel. I love those books. That would be the absolute ultimate.

HYB: Straight to directing. I’ll give that a Borat “Niiiiiice.” When can we expect to see more of you?

MN: I should have a spread in Playgirl soon under the name Bam Bam Goldenrod. Nah. Just jokin. I’m here and there. We’ll see what the future of horror holds for me.

HYB: Thanks Matt and I’ll be sure to tip the pizza guy an extra buck next time!

MN: You better or I’ll fucking kill you!

HORROR YEARBOOK: Eeeek!
