Quentin Tarantino has verified he will finally finish the INGLORIOUS BASTARDS “shooting” script while promoting GRINDHOUSE on the road. As quoted to Slash Film by Filmstalker, Tarantino has said, “I am going to kind of go on the road with this. I haven’t really done it in a big way in a long time where you spend six months doing it. But I also like writing on the road, it’s a really good time to do that so I will probably finish up ‘Inglorious Bastards’ while I am promoting ‘Grindhouse’.”
And for those of you who haven’t heard of this fun flick, it is set during World War 2 and revolves around a group of soldiers on their way to be executed by firing squad for their misdeeds during the war, but are given the chance to delay their fates by heading into Nazi-occupied France on a suicide mission for the Allies. The script was already in development years ago, but Tarantino wasn’t able to finish the ending before he went forward with the KILL BILL movies.
And I guess there is an insane list of possible candidates for the soldiers portrayed. The ever-present Michael Madsen was cast from the beginning of course. But there is some news swirling of Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarznegger, Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Damme, John Travolta, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Walken, and Adam Sandler. Yep, Adam Sandler. So basically, we have Rambo and the Terminator on the battlefields with the Waterboy. Should be interesting.
