The somewhat controversial, oft copied ISLAND OF THE DAMNED (1976) is finally being released in the US on DVD by Dark Sky Films. Dark Sky may just be the place to give it the glorious release it deserves. They were also responsible for the 2 disc Ultimate Edition of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and the 20th Anniversary Special Edition of HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER. So with titles like those and editions that immaculate, we all have something to look forward to when ISLAND is released on June 26th. Hell, I’m not waiting. I already contacted Dark Sky for my own copy hopefully for an early review.
ISLAND OF THE DAMNED (aka WHO CAN KILL A CHILD?) or as I like to call it, LET YOUR CHILDREN KILL YOU, is a nasty little film about an island of children murdering anyone over the age of fourteen. Well, that is pretty bad news for the nice couple that just landed there, resulting in a terrifying climax. This gem has been copied by the likes of CHILDREN OF THE CORN and BEWARE: CHILDREN AT PLAY, so make sure to check out the one that got the story right.
