Warp X, a brand new UK film company, has implemented a new program called “Women Direct Horror”. They state that due to the current trend in horror and the emphasis on more plot-driven, sophisticated horror, they have unveiled their new plan to bring women into the horror genre at full force with the “Women Direct Horror” program.
[Editor's Note: What the fuck is "sophisticated horror" that is the most stupid thing I ever heard! What's next sophisticated romanitc comedies?]
The program will consists of 2 residential workshops working along side the likes of director Richard Stanley (DUST DEVIL) and producer Ros Borland (LAST KING OF SCOTLAND) to help develop their ideas. Ten projects will be developed to outlining stages, four projects will be developed with writers & producers attached, and at least two of them will be greenlit for Warp X productions in 2008. Women rejoice! We are finally getting some respect in the horror industry. And horror fans rejoice! You will finally have some good quality movies. To learn more about Warp X’s plan, go HERE.
