Is ‘Passions’ Being Canceled This Summer

The wildly popular, supernatural day time soap opera “Passions,” which debuted in July 1999, is being canceled this summer. If you are or were ever a fan of the show, we all know it went down hill with the real life death of Timmy (Josh Ryan Evans), Tabitha’s doll sidekick. They made a sad attempt to replace him with the awful Cracked Connie, but got it right many months later with the orangutan named Precious, which launched the great story arc about an insane lesbian killer who was trying to steal the one time millionaire Sheridan Crane’s unborn baby. But even Precious packed her bags and had to leave evetually, leaving us once again empty inside.

It seems that NBC is adding another hour to their popular “Today” show and getting rid of “Passions,” maybe this summer, no official date has been confirmed. This is sad, sad news as another day time soap bites the dust, and to make it worst maybe the best soap ever.

I for one will miss “Passions” which featured teenage zombies, old witches, a crazy fat lady named Norma Bates, lots of shirtless men and the great brandy swigging Julian Crane.

Check out Soap Opera Digest HERE, for all the loose story ends they will hopefully tie up.
