Horror writer Poppy Z. Brite (Lost Souls, Drawing Blood) has had the movie rights to her 1996 novel “Exquisite Corpse” secured by British director Simon Rumley this past October. The novel is about a serial killing homosexual couple that picks up a third male and features graphic violence and gay sex. The movie will stay true to the characters and their storyline with much of the critical incidents left in tact. With three males vying for the attention of another, you know this will not end well. But hey, all’s fair in gay love and war, right? And hopefully, this film will be an intelligent addition to the small, but burgeoning subgenre of gay slasher films.
The screenplay is in the early stages of development by Rumley and the cast has not been chosen yet. Filming is set to take place in New Orleans with a few days in London.
