We had reported that Jurassic Park IV would feature dinosaurs with guns (Read Here), well looks like we were wrong!
Today Spielberg Films shot down the rumor:
“Steven Spielberg’s personal reps at Amblin Entertainment (co-producers of the “Jurassic Park” franchise) have told SpielbergFilms.com that casting has not commenced on the film, as the story and screenplay are still in development. While there’s been talk over the years with series stars Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum and most recently, Laura Dern, the property is still not ready to move forward toward production and no casting is taking place.”
Well O.K. not really 100% shot down, but it seemed like it was a shot in the dark that the dinos with guns script would actually be used in the first place. If the screenplay is still in development then one can only assume that they have reconsidered or we were just spreading false rumors.
I can only keep my fingers crossed that they do the right thing…GIVE THE DINOSAURS GUNS!
