There is a lot going on at Comic-Con this year and I tried to narrow the news down to a few interesting bits of news.
HATCHET Sequel News
HATCHET is so popular with its Army and petitions, that it is no surprise that there is already talk of a sequel with the original film not even released. Director Adam Green elaborates to BD, “The first film, being an independent movie, has already made money just off of the domestic and foreign acquisitions… so the people who made the first one are ready to start moving on a sequel.” But in the end it all depends on the fans, “The storyline is set and ready to go… you guys just have to say when!”
AMUSEMENT Movie News and Pictures
This is one of my picks for upcoming horror films to see. While the script is written by the same guy that wrote THE HITCHER and WHEN A STRANGER CALLS remakes, don’t let that fool you. The pictures are enough to sell me on the film. Release is set for next January. I am even betting now that this will be lumped into that oh-so-scary Torture Porn category and will have people picketing in no time.
The plot revolves around a killer, still holding a grudge from childhood, stalking three women. One of the traumatized women is questioned by a cop and a psychiatrist on three separate stories (about a clown, a hotel and a convoy) that involve her and her friends.
THE STRANGERS Poster
This movie sounds excellent… but then I saw who starred in it. This thriller is about a couple that is attacked by three masked strangers. The posters are awesome. One of a woman seemingly dragging her bloodied self and the other of the masked killers. The masks kind of remind me of ALICE, SWEET ALICE. The only thing potentially holding back the film is the goody-goody onscreen images of the two stars Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman.
