It looks like we have another Blair Witch on our hands. The most talked about thing this week is not the summer hit Transformers but the mysterious trailer shown before Transformers. Yes I am talking about the mysetrious J.J. Abrams movie trailer.

The trailer starts off as a home video of a going away party. When what seems like an Earthquake hits, the partygoers run out into the street to find NY City being destroyed by an unseen force. The reason you know it’s NY is because the Statue of Liberty’s head comes crashing down into the street after being blown or ripped off (making it the last National Monument in New York you can safely blow up in a film, since terrorists or apes have not gotten their hands on it yet.)

You never quite see what is destroying the city, and we’re never told what the film is about or what the title is. The only info is that it’s a new film by J.J. Abrams and it has a lot of moviegoers talking. This is what is known so far:

Number 1st. The working title of the film is Cloverfield.

2nd. The film was greenlit in February and then given a budget of $30 million.

3rd. The cast is made-up of unknowns.

4th. It’s not yet known if the whole film is shot from an “average joe’s” handheld camera, that could be just one sequence in the trailer.

5th. Since J.J. Abrams is involved, you probably still will not get any answers even after you see the film.

We have also been told that some people claim that a character in the trailer mentions a “creature” or animal, leading people to speculate that it may be the new Godzilla 3D film, but I have no idea if that is true.
