You should be stoked to hear that there is a new Godzilla film that will not only be in English, but be in 3-D (!!), according to Ain’t He Fat News. Keith Melton is directing it from a script by Yoshimitsu Banno (GODZILLA VS. HEDORA). What is interesting to note here is that Melton has experience with IMAX films and documentaries, so I am curious to see what he will do with a live action feature.
The last time the US tried its hand at the ‘Zilla was 10 years ago with Roland Emmerich’s GODZILLA (1998). It was critically panned, but did well at the box office. Hopefully, this new one will be more entertaining and actually deserve its box office booty.
Production should begin next February with numerous shoots taking place in Tokyo, Las Vegas, LA, and South America.
