Odd Lot Entertainment is releasing a triple threat of horror under its genre banner DarkLot Entertainment. We’ve heard previous news of Frank Miller’s THE SPIRIT coming from their direction, but they have also shot 3 horror films back to back last year and will be released sometime this year.
LIVING HELL is written and directed by Richard Jefferies (COLD CREEK MANOR) and stars Johnathon Schaech as a man who holds the key to stopping a biological warfare experiment in an old military base.
UNDEAD OR ALIVE: A ZOMEDY is written and directed by Glasgow Phillips (“South Park”). The film stars Chris Kattan and James Denton fighting ghouls and is compared to SHAUN OF THE DEAD and BLAZING SADDLES. Now this has promise.
BURIED ALIVE is directed by Robert Kurtzman (WISHMASTER) and written by Art Monterastelli (JOHN RAMBO). College kids go to a cabin for a sorority prank and run into a ghost with an axe. Tobin Bell (SAW series) stars as a caretaker. Frankly, I am sick of horror films that start with anything in a cabin or related to a prank gone wrong.
There was a fourth film that was scrapped at the last minute called ZERO DARK THIRTY, which was a reimagining of Bob Clark’s DEATHDREAM. This tale would have involved the aftermath of a not quite dead soldier returning from the Iraq war. The producers claim this film was cut due to “business decisions” and had nothing to do with the subject matter.
