U.S.A. Today’s the Rise of the NEW Scream Queen

If you head over to U.S.A. Today’s website, here, or pick up the current issue (for a longer version) you can read an article they did about the rise of new scream queens.

“[With] the rise in horror films in theaters and on DVD — particularly the slasher variety — has given birth to a new generation of “scream queens.”

I love how the horror genre is the one genre that really never goes away, continually makes money, but every so often someone decides that is on the “rise” again. When did it fall? Anyway it’s always good for us fans when magazines like this cover the genre, because it means we will get more horror films. The article lists Sheri Moon, Jaimie Alexander (Rest Stop), Andrea Bogart (Dark Ride), Mercedes McNab (Hatchet) and so on…

Hmm funny they didn’t mention poor Monique Dupree, well maybe in the longer article. I’ll get a copy and find out.
